Honor Navalny by Continuing his Anti-Corruption Campaign
Russia & the world have been delivered a brutal mafia message by notorious killer Vladimir Putin, timed to coincide with the Munich Security Conference (to which he was not invited), by the death of Alexei Navalny in a Siberian gulag, after being poisoned, tortured, exiled as a symbol of hope & resistance in Russia.
Like the invasion & massive violent destruction of Ukraine, Putin continues to signal that he is a psychopath who only cares about dominating the world to his corrupt benefit, as a means for power. This criminal malignancy & danger is what Alexei was exposing & why Putin considered him a threat & a progressive icon to punish the world with.
Our world hangs in a deadly balance between corruption & justice, democracy & authoritarianism, sustainabilty & ecocide, humanitarianism & brutal psychopathology. Putin built his entire career on ruthless assassination, extortion, deception, corruption & cruelty. He has spent the last decades plotting & setting up an “axis of terror” & corruption around the world, including subverting American elections & elevating one of his agents to the White House, creating a violent cult to take over an entire political party, now doing his bidding & spouting his brutal talking points.
Ukraine & Navalny represent how half-measures & good intentions don’t stop psychopaths or warlords. How many millions of future generations would be spared by standing up to one rat-faced, insecure, paranoid bully? (What Germans & Austrians should have asked back in 1939.) The world needs to deploy maximum force to counter & neutralize the threat of war criminal Putin. Navalny surely had his flaws as a Russian nationalist, but Putin is a spreading criminal contagion, now waging World War 3 against “the West.”
“Regime change” was called for in the invasion of Iraq over figmentary weapons of mass destruction. Vladimir Putin is using weapons of mass destruction to threaten the world, industrial warfare to slaughter entire villages & destroy cities in Ukraine, & he will not stop there. He murders his own citizens, cultural leaders & journalists with impunity. He is a wanted war criminal. Why can’t every nation send their special forces all at once to arrest this man? Or are you waiting to see if he will prevail in his corruption campaign of American elections in 2024?
Side note: Donald Trump is directly connected to Russia murders of Navalny & other journalists & Saudi murder of Jamal Kashoggi on American soil, by complicity, corruption, & ideological support. GOP has become an arm of foreign & enemy influence, corruption & subversion. Putin reminds us that when elections become meaningless & criminal violence takes over, resistance is no longer an option. Nor is human rights, environmentalism, journalism, education, freedom, sanity, truth. All in the balance in 2024.

Alexei Navalny was born in 1976, in a village just to the west of Moscow. He grew up in Obninsk, a town 100km (62 miles) south-west of Moscow, eventually graduating in law at Moscow's Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in 1998.
But it was another decade before he began his rise as a force in Russian politics, making his name as a grassroots anti-corruption campaigner. His blog took aim at alleged malpractice and corruption at some of Russia's big state-controlled corporations.
One of his tactics was to become a minority shareholder in major oil companies, banks and ministries, and to ask awkward questions about holes in state finances.
His consistent message was a simple one: that Mr Putin's party was full of "crooks and thieves".
He accused the president of "sucking the blood out of Russia" through a "feudal state" concentrating power in the Kremlin. That patronage system, he claimed, was like tsarist Russia.
It helped that Navalny spoke the street language of younger Russians, and used it to powerful effect on social media. His Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) made detailed claims about official corruption.
Then, in 2011, he would lead large street protests against President Putin.
In August 2020, Navalny collapsed on a flight over Siberia and was rushed to hospital in Omsk. That emergency landing saved his life. A German-based charity persuaded Russian officials to allow him to be airlifted to Berlin for treatment.
In September, the German government revealed that tests carried out by the military found "unequivocal proof of a chemical nerve warfare agent of the Novichok group". The Kremlin denied any involvement and rejected the Novichok finding.
Recovered, Navalny returned to Moscow on 17 January 2021 and was immediately detained, as he knew he would be. He said on Instagram that he felt he had never left - so there was no choice but to return.
He would never be free again, despite his supporters staging mass protests across Russia. Police responded to the protests with force, detaining thousands for attending the unauthorised rallies.
The arrests did not deter his team from their mission. A video of "Putin's palace" on YouTube was quickly published, focusing on a vast luxury Black Sea palace, allegedly gifted to Mr Putin by rich associates.
The video has been viewed well over 100 million times.
His last sentence, handed down by judges in August 2023 and which extended his jail term to 19 years, saw him moved to a maximum security penal colony usually reserved for Russia's most dangerous criminals.
His harsh treatment reflected the fact that Mr Putin and his regime feared the influence that Navalny's campaigns had been gaining, Prof Nina Khrushcheva, the great-granddaughter of former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev and international affairs experts, told the BBC at the time.
"Putin doesn't even mention his name, anybody in the Kremlin can't his mention name," she said, drawing a comparison with the fictional Harry Potter character Voldemort - who is also referred to as "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named".

Alexei was detained immediately upon his arrival after his 5-month treatment in Germany. He ended up there in a German hospital after Putin’s attempt to murder him. Alexei has always fought for our rights. Now it’s our turn to fight for his. Putin has to be held accountable for his crimes.

In the decades-long unfolding of Vladimir Putin's insane war on the world, America, like Ukraine, has been used as a test lab, for destabilization, disinformation, election subversion, extremist manipulation & corruption on a scale that now threatens to end our culture & our democracy with violence, terror & criminal conspiracy, surrounding Trump org, a side-project of Putin's oligarch gang.
What is mystifying to younger generations is how the "world order" of the UN, NATO, EU, have acquiesced to criminal terror, murder, poisoning, torture, imprisonment of political opponents, for decades allowing Putin & other corrupt warlords to destabilize the world. We've all been warped by a world system which allows psychopaths like Putin & Trump to seize power & smother the possibilities for humane, progressive & peaceful outcomes. Did humanity not learn anything from the century of world wars of the 20th century, with the genocide, slaughter, repression of millions?
This tyrannical psychopathology has become epidemic, intentionally spread like a virus to threaten many countries & billions of humans, from China & Myanmar to Russia, Belarus, Syria, Philippines, Brazil, Hungary, like an Orwellian, totalitarian blueprint for enslaving all of us, keeping us all in a state of panic & confusion, or behind barbed wire. Given Putin's latest psychopathic threat, to use nuclear weapons, let us not forget, even for an hour, that we are all living on a gigantic frankenstein monster made of cruise missiles, submarines, stealth jets & planet-scorching atomic bombs.
Is it coincidental that as these psychopath cults turn up their rage & paranoid threats, humanity is faced with unprecedented climate catastrophes, battered, baked, inundated, forced to flee from extreme weather, requiring us to rally together as a world & radically change our fuels & industries? One can argue that underlying the extremes of politics & environment lies a bed of corruption, connected directly to petroleum production & weapons of war. Obsolete & toxic industries need a reason to continue, or a smokescreen (like war) to hide behind.
Is it possible we are witnessing the dying desperation of these 20th century modes & mobsters of corruption & tyranny? Or are we going to continue to be victims of their violence, madness & theft of possibilities? Will we wait until we no longer have any possibilities left but become refugees, prisoners, hostages struggling just to survive? At what point will the institutions of world order & justice step in to hold these psychopaths & their enablers accountable? We can see in Ukraine how humanitarian intentions, prayers & appeals for sensibility mean nothing to the psychopaths, who actually revel in the cruelty & suffering they cause.
